Doua & Jason: Classic Garden Wedding

We are so delighted to see this Doua & Jason’s wedding being featured on Snippet & Ink!

With the help of family and friends this DIY wedding came together to create a magical day for Doua and Jason. Jason with his passion for cooking cooked the three course meal himself, Doua’s best friend and bridesmaid put together all the flowers (with a one week old baby), and a family friend baked the delightful red redvelvet cake.

Doua feared for rain on her wedding day  as many brides do, but she shares how it ended up creating a special moment in time that could not be repeated:

“Worried about the weather I broke down to my fiancé and he assured me that there’s nothing we can do about the weather and that if it’s in God’s plan for us to have rain on our wedding day, it will be beautiful all the same.  I didn’t believe him.  On our wedding day, to my surprise, the clouds cleared up and the sun was beaming down.  We had blue skies for our ceremony and soon after we finished, an overcast came in to give us some much needed shade from the sun.  Soon after we all sat down for the reception under the tent and it started to pour.  Everyone was able to stay dry and watch the rain as dinner was being served.  Some people decided to dance in the rain, others took pictures in it.  It was magical.  The rain started to die down as speeches were made and when we made our way to the table to cut our cake, there was the most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen.  Jason was right, if God intended rain, it was to bless us with a beautiful rainbow. “
