All About Me

Hi! I’m Stephanie Rudolph and I’m currently a sophomore at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I’m working on my bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. While at school I am very busy with wind orchestra, and the Rock Climbing club, which I am the president of. I was born and raised in Colorado, growing up in Arvada. My family means a lot to and I would not be able to do any of the things I do without them. I love food, exploring the Denver area, my dog Maverick, the state of Colorado and going on hikes.

Luckily, I have spent quite a bit of time out of the country. I have been to Mexico, Canada, Finland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece, and at least 25 states. I would love to study abroad and I am currently working on doing so. I have never been to France, but Paris is the first place on my travel bucket list. I think I could live in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. I love to travel but there is no place like Colorful Colorado.

I am very passionate about love. Weddings are a physical representation of love which is why I want to be a part weddings on a daily basis. My mother and father were high school sweethearts so love was a very important part of my childhood. I am obsessed with wedding planning and have 16 wedding related boards on Pinterest. I am so excited for this summer internship experience with A Vintage Affair and gaining the knowledge I need to become a successful wedding planner.

Meet Brittany!

Meet Brittany! She will be interning with us for the 2017 summer season 🙂

Hi! My name is Brittany Ann Pierce and I am currently going to be a senior at Colorado State University, studying communications. I was raised in Eaton, CO. I also work for the CSU football team and just turned 21 at the beginning of April. My favorite color is pink (but not hot pink, has to be baby pink). I have my own dog and his name is Dually and he is a 2 year old yellow lab. Also, my family is the biggest part of my life and are my biggest supporters.
I have been to many places within the states and out of the country as well. Traveling is something that is a passion to me and I strive to make my way around the world. I am currently studying abroad in Rome, Italy and it is the best decision I have ever made. Getting to experience different culture and be immersed in it for months is an opportunity everyone should take.
When I walk into an empty room, I can picture exactly how I think it should look with decorations, colors, design, etc. A wedding should be one of the best days of someone’s life and to be able to make that dream day come true for someone is amazing. Also, weddings are a special time when people come together for love and that rare occasion should be celebrated in the best way possible. I’m very excited to see where this journey takes me and to be a part of such a great opportunity.

2017 Wedding Summer Internship

We’re looking for Summer Interns! We are excited to be adding up to 3-4 interns to our team this summer!

Do weddings make you swoon? Are you curious about learning the ins and outs of the wedding day and the planning that goes into it before?  Are you interested in the inner-workings of a local small business? This internship is a great opportunity to learn more about design, as well as event planning and production. Send us your résume and a brief summary of who you are (a résume can only tell us so much!) and why you’re interested in weddings.

Internship Curriculum consists of:

On-site management, directly communicating with vendors and clients, and lots of insight into the Colorado event planning industry! Learning the logistics of wedding planning: timelines, rehearsals, communicating with couples via email, consultations, and phone calls. Learning the design process (color boards, floral inspiration, blog posts on design trends, creating inspiration boards)

We believe in:

High standard of professionalism when communicating with clients, vendors, and our couples. Prioritization and organization. We have learned that the greatest advantage in wedding and event planning is having strong organizational skills. Even the greatest of tasks can be completed through strategic organization. The effectiveness of a team. Whether that be in a supporting role or a leading role, the most important role is one that benefits the team as a whole.

This will be a 3 month commitment from June-August (depending on school schedule) and applicants MUST be available most weekends. This is an unpaid internship and must be recognized by the interns college instruction as academic credit towards his/her chosen degree. 20+ hours a week.

If you are interested in an internship:

Completed applications are due February 25th, 2017 with interviews beginning at the beginning of March. Applications may be sent to:

Fall Wedding Inspiration

So many beautiful bridal inspiration shoots are built around the bride of course, which we love. But so many men out there are just as stylish and bespoke as the lovely ladies in their lives, so we wanted to highlight a couple who both love fashion and style, and who wanted to see that reflected throughout the aesthetics of their wedding day. Photographer Cassidy Brook was looking to highlight color with a stylish green groom’s suit, which was where our design ideas began to take shape. We wanted an organic, modern look to the shoot and a warm and textural fall feel that we thought would not only inspire stylish couples but feel relatable and attainable. Adding in tones and shades of marsala and deep fuchsia gave us just the palette we were wanting–fresh and fallish, yet sophisticated.

We outfitted our real couple in a stylish emerald green suit by ASOS and a stunning halter gown by Willowby paired with a flowy skirt from WToo and stunning ring by Susie Saltzman. It’s a tossup whose updo we loved more–his stylish manbun or her beautiful braided look by KIS Hair and Makeup Design! We outfitted their bridesmaid in a gorgeous deep fuchsia halter gown by BHLDN. We kept flowers organic, romantic and textural and we LOVE how the color palette married with the incredible fall colors of the landscape.

The Manor House recently added a new ballroom and we felt like it perfectly married the modern yet still organic feel we were going for. The table set in front of the fireplace was a stylish focal point for the shoot. Velvet is a favorite for fall weddings and we loved the unusual shade of this Rose Velvet Linen from La Tavola–a neutral but with more depth. We set the table with modern gold candelabra and stylish brass votives, which were a lovely tie-in to the gold rimmed plate and flatware from Crate and Barrel. A concrete vessel filled with lush and textural dahlia, garden roses, pieris buds, grapes, crabapples, blackberries and mint gave the table an organic yet elegant vibe. Stationery from Julie Ha Calligraphy completed the look.

Meet Katelyn!

Meet Katelyn! She will be working with us this summer as an intern and we couldn’t be more delighted!

All About Me

Hi! My name is Katelyn Nagle! I am currently a junior at the University of Denver pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management with an area focus in events. I am born and raised in Denver, Colorado and I love being around and spending time with all of my family and friends. I enjoy trying new restaurants, cooking, playing with my puppy, skiing, cheering on the Denver Broncos, working out, traveling, being outside in the sun, shopping, reading love stories, and eating ice cream. I always bring a friendly attitude and a willingness to help others, and you will never find me without a smile on my face!

Traveling has always been a passion of mine, I absolutely love learning about new places, exploring, trying new food, and creating unforgettable memories. Some of my favorite places in the world to travel include Mexico, New York City, Hawaii, the Bahamas, and Disney. I have an endless list of places I hope to travel too one day, but Tahiti is most defiantly at the top of that list. My grandmother is from Tahiti and I have always dreamed of traveling there. Some other places I hope to travel too one day soon include Panama, Thailand, and Greece. I am also so excited to announce that I am planning on studying abroad in Florence, Italy this upcoming fall. I can’t wait to create new memories and have endless adventures!

I love everything weddings! From the décor and the floral arrangements, to the bride walking down the isle and the groom’s priceless reaction, and everything in between from the memorable toasts, cake cutting, and first dances. My Pinterest boards are excessive; I believe I have watched just about every episode of Say Yes to the Dress and I have probably seen Bride Wars & 27 Dresses one too many times. It is nearly impossible for me to pick my favorite aspect of a wedding because I am just completely OBSESSED with it all. I am so excited to spend my summer as an intern with A Vintage Affair and learn all about wedding planning!

All About Me

Hello! my name is Shaileigh St. Clair and I am currently a Sophomore at the University of Denver, studying Hospitality Management. I was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I have a large family that gets together often! While in school, I am really busy with my sorority, Delta Gamma, and other clubs, National Society of Minorities in Hospitality, and Writ Engagement Corps. During my free time, I absolutely love to spend time with family, try new restaurants, and binge watch Say Yes to the Dress.

As of today, I have never been out of the United States! I have traveled to many places within the country, and am planning on studying abroad next winter in York England. So far, my favorite place to visit was Oceanside, California. Although I am a Colorado girl, I am a beach girl at heart. I love the sea breeze in my hair and the relaxed atmosphere of Oceanside. I also love that it was only an hour away from Disneyland, which is one of my favorite places in the world.

I have had a passion for weddings since I was a little girl. There is a long line of high school sweethearts in my family, including my parents and grandparents, so I have always been in love with love. I enjoy so many aspects about weddings, so it is nearly impossible to pick one. Some of my favorite moments are seeing the glow of a bride on her big day, décor and flower arrangements, father-daughter moments, the bridal gown, and the reactions of everyone when the bride makes her appearance. I am so excited to spend my summer with A Vintage Affair and to learn a lot about wedding planning!

Guest Blogger: Wedding Dress Trunk Shows

Today’s informative and fun guest blog post comes from Anna, co-owner of anna bé  and a&bé bridal shop, two of the best wedding dress boutiques in Denver. She will be sharing all you need to know about wedding dress trunk shows.

What exactly is a wedding dress trunk show?
A trunk show is a weekend event where brides have the opportunity to shop some of the newest styles from a featured designer. When a designer comes out with a new collection of wedding dresses they may design anywhere from 8 to 20 new styles. And as much as we would love to, we generally are unable to have all of the styles in our shop and so we may only have 4 – 6 styles. But… that all changes during the trunk show. During the trunk show the designer will send us lots of new styles and usually some past favorites as well allowing a bride to try on tons of gowns! In the past, the gowns traveled in an actual trunk from location to location, which is where the name originally came from.

During a trunk show, a bride will still work one-on-one with our stylists for a 90 minute appointment. Once a bride finds her gown, measurements will be taken and the dress will be made to order. In terms of timing, we recommend ordering your wedding gown at least 6-9 months before your wedding date and with a trunk show sometimes that timing may be even longer as sometimes we only host 1 trunk show per year per designer! If you are lucky enough to be shopping during the trunk show definitely take advantage of this special event!!!

What are some of the benefits are attending?
In addition to being able to try on a TON of styles, sometimes these styles can be seen before they even arrive in the stores! This means a bride will be one of the very first to ever buy that particular dress.

And if a bride is really lucky, the designer will be at the trunk show. Seriously, how cool is that. A bride could meet with the person who designed the dress that she will wear on her wedding day.
Lastly, we rarely have sales or incentives, but if there is going to be one, you can bet it will happen during a trunk show! Sometimes meeting with that designer means making a change to your dress for no cost!

When are your upcoming ones? Anyone in particular you are excited about?
For a&be denver we’ve got some really fun events on the horizon:

February 26-27 // Wtoo and Willowby
Hands down, this collection coming from the Wtoo and Willowby line is the strongest collection that has been put out in years. There’s something for every type of bride: the rustic, the romantic, the classic, and the bohemian. And, this collection starts for less than a $1,000 and during the trunk show all brides who buy will save 10%!

March 4-5 // Claire La Faye
Claire is the coolest ever. Before bridal, she worked as a stylist and really takes this strength of taking one’s individual style and bringing it to a bride’s wedding dress. During this trunk show brides will get to meet with and work one-on-one with Claire!

March 10 // Sara Gabriel (thursday night)
We adore Sara! Sara is a local Denver veil designer and is taking over the bridal world with her hand-finished collection of veils and headpieces that have classic roots and are perfect for the free-spirited, independent bride. Not to mention, she’s pretty fabulous. For one night, we’re inviting all of our brides to come get styled by Sara. She’ll help you pick the perfect finishing touch for your wedding dress!

March 11-12 // Limor Rosen
Limor Rosen is a new Israeli line that is going to be one of the hottest names and we get to bring the collection to Denver brides first! The gowns will only be in our shop for one weekend!

March 18-19 // La Poesie
This line is effortlessly cool. It’s inspired by parisian boho chic and is so romantic. This also is a collection that we are bringing to Denver brides first and will only be in the store for one weekend.

Do I need an appointment to attend?
YES! We want to make sure that we have a fitting room and a stylist to work with you. We encourage you to call us at 720.627.5760 to schedule your trunk show appointment. If you have any questions about the designer, a specific dress, or any of the events we would love to help answer your questions.

Good luck to all you lovelies looking for the dress!

Australia Travels

Recently I traveled to Australia with the talented Connie Whitlock Photography.  We had so much fun! I am a firm believer that traveling is the best way to refresh you mind, soul, and spirit.  Driving on the other side of the road was challenging, but totally worth this breathtaking road trip. We traveled to the Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay, Bondi Beach, Sydney, Melbourne, and to the gorgeous Great Ocean Road.  Australia was an endless source of inspiration. If I could describe Australia as a person, she would be completely effortless, charismatic, and have great sense of humor!  Here is some of my favorite photos that Connie took during our adventure:
