Barbara & Sam’s Lovely Denver Wedding

Barbara and Sam had a lovely  Denver wedding. Everything about the day was perfect, from the fall weather, to the colorful flowers, and meaningful traditions. The best thing about working with Barbara and Samuel is that they put a lot of trust into their vendors, allowing us to do what we do best! Barbara and Samuel wanted to tie in some classic elements which contrasted nicely with the industrial vibe on the venue. Their outdoor ceremony had a Chuppah made of aspen branches and covered with delicate sheer draping and greenery.

The black napkins, grey tapers candles, and copper flatware provided the perfect backdrop for the whimsical centerpieces. They were lush and full with berry, lavender, blush, marsala, and amber colors. With all of the streamlined details and the simple but industrial backdrop of Blanc, the flowers really stood out and pulled the color palette together, making the feel of the reception seamless.

The photo booth backdrop consisted of natural greenery and doubled as a great backdrop for the couple to sign their ketubah.  It was great to be able to use this beautiful installation for multiple purposes. The original plan was to sign the ketubah in front of a white wall but using the backdrop instead really added to the photos and makes them extra special.

One my favorite elements of their wedding was the Mezinka, which is a Jewish tradition honoring the parents who have just married off their last child. Barbara and Samuel crowned her parents and their guests danced a celebratory circle around them.

All About Me

Hi! I’m Stephanie Rudolph and I’m currently a sophomore at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I’m working on my bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. While at school I am very busy with wind orchestra, and the Rock Climbing club, which I am the president of. I was born and raised in Colorado, growing up in Arvada. My family means a lot to and I would not be able to do any of the things I do without them. I love food, exploring the Denver area, my dog Maverick, the state of Colorado and going on hikes.

Travel

Luckily, I have spent quite a bit of time out of the country. I have been to Mexico, Canada, Finland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece, and at least 25 states. I would love to study abroad and I am currently working on doing so. I have never been to France, but Paris is the first place on my travel bucket list. I think I could live in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. I love to travel but there is no place like Colorful Colorado.

Weddings

I am very passionate about love. Weddings are a physical representation of love which is why I want to be a part weddings on a daily basis. My mother and father were high school sweethearts so love was a very important part of my childhood. I am obsessed with wedding planning and have 16 wedding related boards on Pinterest. I am so excited for this summer internship experience with A Vintage Affair and gaining the knowledge I need to become a successful wedding planner.

Meet Brittany!

Meet Brittany! She will be interning with us for the 2017 summer season 🙂

Hi! My name is Brittany Ann Pierce and I am currently going to be a senior at Colorado State University, studying communications. I was raised in Eaton, CO. I also work for the CSU football team and just turned 21 at the beginning of April. My favorite color is pink (but not hot pink, has to be baby pink). I have my own dog and his name is Dually and he is a 2 year old yellow lab. Also, my family is the biggest part of my life and are my biggest supporters.
Travel
I have been to many places within the states and out of the country as well. Traveling is something that is a passion to me and I strive to make my way around the world. I am currently studying abroad in Rome, Italy and it is the best decision I have ever made. Getting to experience different culture and be immersed in it for months is an opportunity everyone should take.
Weddings
When I walk into an empty room, I can picture exactly how I think it should look with decorations, colors, design, etc. A wedding should be one of the best days of someone’s life and to be able to make that dream day come true for someone is amazing. Also, weddings are a special time when people come together for love and that rare occasion should be celebrated in the best way possible. I’m very excited to see where this journey takes me and to be a part of such a great opportunity.

Feminine Garden Inspiration

In a world filled with so much chaos, development, innovation, and modernism, we wanted to stop and celebrate something timeless and enduring: the beauty of femininity. For this shoot, we wanted to do something feminine, organic, and romantic. The muted color palette really allowed for the natural beauty of the ranch to show through. Running streams and rows of pine trees set the backdrop for this mountain shoot, along with breathtaking views.

To achieve that soft, graceful look we were going for, we dressed the table with airy and delicate florals. We also created a table number of pressed bougainvillea, aspen leaves, spray roses, and many other beautiful flowers. We layered a  ivory silk runner from Tono & Co. onto of a blush pink chiffon linen for texture. For the napkins we wanted to compliment the scenery with green silk napkins. On top of the table sat marble taper candle holders with thin white taper candles. We chose clean white plates, gold rimmed glassware, and modern gold flatware for an effortless look.

Megan Joy designed a beautiful textured blush cake consisting of delicious sour cream cake with mountain huckleberries and maple buttercream, dark chocolate stout cake with smoked caramel and espresso and chocolate buttercream, and a buttermilk cake with vanilla bean buttercream.

The invitation suite provided by Plume Calligraphy was the perfect blend of clean and elegant. They were encased with a vellum wrap which Plume embellished with leaves and it was pressed together with a black garland wax seal. We also added pressed flowers to the bride and groom’s place cards.

We went with a gorgeous dress designed by Flora, an Israeli designer. It had a flowy skirt and a sheer top with lace embellishments. Paired with a long veil from Sara Gabriel, it was perfect.  The subtle and soft makeup created a flawless look on our model.

Classic Vail Wedding

Alba and Jordan’s  classic Vail wedding took place at Donovan Pavilion the second weekend of October in the lovely mountains of Vail, Colorado.  The fall colors made a stunning backdrop for their mountainside first look.  And Becca, the couples adorable pup was the cutest “Dog of Honor”. Alba has such a classic style which made for a timeless and romantic day at the iconic venue. Congrats again Alba & Jordan!

2017 Wedding Summer Internship

We’re looking for Summer Interns! We are excited to be adding up to 3-4 interns to our team this summer!

Do weddings make you swoon? Are you curious about learning the ins and outs of the wedding day and the planning that goes into it before?  Are you interested in the inner-workings of a local small business? This internship is a great opportunity to learn more about design, as well as event planning and production. Send us your résume and a brief summary of who you are (a résume can only tell us so much!) and why you’re interested in weddings.

Internship Curriculum consists of:

On-site management, directly communicating with vendors and clients, and lots of insight into the Colorado event planning industry! Learning the logistics of wedding planning: timelines, rehearsals, communicating with couples via email, consultations, and phone calls. Learning the design process (color boards, floral inspiration, blog posts on design trends, creating inspiration boards)

We believe in:

High standard of professionalism when communicating with clients, vendors, and our couples. Prioritization and organization. We have learned that the greatest advantage in wedding and event planning is having strong organizational skills. Even the greatest of tasks can be completed through strategic organization. The effectiveness of a team. Whether that be in a supporting role or a leading role, the most important role is one that benefits the team as a whole.

Details:

This will be a 3 month commitment from June-August (depending on school schedule) and applicants MUST be available most weekends. This is an unpaid internship and must be recognized by the interns college instruction as academic credit towards his/her chosen degree. 20+ hours a week.

If you are interested in an internship:

Completed applications are due February 25th, 2017 with interviews beginning at the beginning of March. Applications may be sent to: hello@avintageaffairevents.com

Magical Mountain Wedding

The day before Whitney and Eric’s wedding it rained for the entire day. And then on the day of….it rained and rained. But, right before the ceremony, it just stopped. The fog hovered over the mountains and it was so peaceful, it really created a magical mountain wedding! It was a day they will never forget, nor will anyone who witnessed it .

From the Bride: We are that couple that met in a bar but ended up with a happily ever after! We shared some tequila and the rest is history. I can attest to the old saying, absence makes the heart grow fonder as we started our relationship overseas and it was over Skype dates, a twelve-hour time difference and longing to be back together that sparked our love. Our first date was when Eric came back to the states for one of his best friend’s weddings. We were inseparable ever since.

A few years later, Eric took me on a summer trip to one of his favorite places, Telluride, where he proposed at the bottom of Bridal Veil Falls…swoon! Having been born in Colorado, we visit often and it has always had a special place in our hearts. We knew right away a mountain wedding was a must!

Planning a wedding in Colorado while living in Florida required a relaxed and carefree attitude. We actually booked our wedding venue without ever seeing it in person! I was very lucky to have found the venue, our phenomenal photographer and exceptional florist on Instagram. I put all my trust in my vendors and let the experts take over. This gave results better than I could have imagined and definitely made things much easier for me.

We wanted our guests to feel relaxed yet be awed by an extravagant experience. We envisioned a dreamy, romantic and chic boho vibe. We chose to go with shades of neutrals and incorporate some natural elements. As everyone who knows me is aware I have an absolute love for lavender so we enjoyed including it into our decor, using fresh sprigs on our place settings, creating a signature lavender infused cocktail and designing a crate of dried lavender to hold our escort cards. The florals were soft with pops of color to keep a fun summer feel. I gave full rein to our florist and she put together incredible bouquets with an assortment of florals that were even accented with fresh mint! She also made a stunning hair piece that really complemented the style I was looking for.

The most memorable part of the wedding for us was writing and exchanging our vows in front of our dearest family and closest friends. The dinner was exquisite with four courses and complemented by some incredibly funny and heartfelt toasts! The party carried on as the band rocked the dance floor late into the night. We chose to take a special moment together at the end of the evening. As the guests were lining up outside for our exit we shared one last dance together, just the two of us, to Lover of the Light by Mumford and Sons. It was as if everything went into slow motion. It was such an incredible way to take in all the delight of the day. Our wedding was more magical than I ever could have imagined. It rained for almost two straight days before the wedding but hours before the ceremony it cleared and made for the most mystical backdrop as the clouds filled the mountaintops.

To anyone currently planning, start early if possible, absolutely get a planner, and let go completely of any expectations once the day arrives. It truly will be the best day ever!

Fall Wedding Inspiration

So many beautiful bridal inspiration shoots are built around the bride of course, which we love. But so many men out there are just as stylish and bespoke as the lovely ladies in their lives, so we wanted to highlight a couple who both love fashion and style, and who wanted to see that reflected throughout the aesthetics of their wedding day. Photographer Cassidy Brook was looking to highlight color with a stylish green groom’s suit, which was where our design ideas began to take shape. We wanted an organic, modern look to the shoot and a warm and textural fall feel that we thought would not only inspire stylish couples but feel relatable and attainable. Adding in tones and shades of marsala and deep fuchsia gave us just the palette we were wanting–fresh and fallish, yet sophisticated.

We outfitted our real couple in a stylish emerald green suit by ASOS and a stunning halter gown by Willowby paired with a flowy skirt from WToo and stunning ring by Susie Saltzman. It’s a tossup whose updo we loved more–his stylish manbun or her beautiful braided look by KIS Hair and Makeup Design! We outfitted their bridesmaid in a gorgeous deep fuchsia halter gown by BHLDN. We kept flowers organic, romantic and textural and we LOVE how the color palette married with the incredible fall colors of the landscape.

The Manor House recently added a new ballroom and we felt like it perfectly married the modern yet still organic feel we were going for. The table set in front of the fireplace was a stylish focal point for the shoot. Velvet is a favorite for fall weddings and we loved the unusual shade of this Rose Velvet Linen from La Tavola–a neutral but with more depth. We set the table with modern gold candelabra and stylish brass votives, which were a lovely tie-in to the gold rimmed plate and flatware from Crate and Barrel. A concrete vessel filled with lush and textural dahlia, garden roses, pieris buds, grapes, crabapples, blackberries and mint gave the table an organic yet elegant vibe. Stationery from Julie Ha Calligraphy completed the look.
